Tutorial for plush Christmas card

November 11, 2020

My tutorial today is for a plush Christmas card. This one is just so touchy feely, with lots of texture.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the plush Christmas card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

Two different patterns of the Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper provide the flower and the holly sprigs. And there’s no need for fussy cutting! The Poinsettia dies will cut the shapes out.

In addition to the texture from the Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper, there is also a fuzzy warmth provided by the Red Velvet Paper, which is also embossed.

The Plush Poinsettia Paper would be a great addition to your shopping basket if you order the Poinsettia Stamp-a-Stack, which already has most of the supplies you need to make this card.

Start with an A6 portrait card of Soft Suede. Cut a wide panel of Red Velvet Paper and run through one of the Wrapped in Texture embossing folders before adhering direct to the card front. Add a narrow panel of Poinsettia Place DSP alongside it and cover the join with a skinny strip of Soft Suede. Using Real Red ink, stamp a sentiment from Poinsettia Petals onto a scrap of Very Vanilla card. Die cut out with the Detailed Bands dies. Mat onto Soft Suede label die cut with the same dies and pop up on the card front with dimensionals. Die cut a poinsettia, two holly leaves and a berry sprig from Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper using the Poinsettia dies. Adhere direct to the card front and add Beaded Pearls to the centre.

On the Very Vanilla insert, using Real Red ink, stamp another sentiment and the berries from the Poinsettia Petals set. Add a strip of the Poinsettia Place DSP down the side.

Thanks for stopping by.
