Tutorial for New Home card

November 18, 2020

My tutorial today is for a New Home card, showing that the Coming Home bundle isn’t just for Christmas.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the New Home card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

I could have created the card using the stamps from the bundle and coloured the houses individually but instead I die cut the houses from the Trimming the Town DSP. The papers include all four sizes of house, both sizes of tree and the dinky wreath, all for die cutting.

I didn’t have a new home sentiment and so I improvised by combining other sets.

Just a reminder, that for every purchase of either the stamp set alone, or the bundle, Stampin’ Up! will make a donation to charities devoted to adoption, foster care, and infertility ❤️

Start with DL card of Old Olive. (A DL card is a “dimension lengthwise” card 3.9 x 8.27 in). Cut three card front layers of Whisper White card. Using the curve die with trees, from the Coming Home die set, die cut the Whisper White layers at different heights and keeping the trees to each side. Die cut out three different sizes of houses from Trimming the Town DSP.

Using Old Olive ink, stamp the sentiment, with words separated out, near the top of each layer. I used the Well Said set and the Making a Difference set to create the sentiment. Adhere the bottom two layers in place direct, tucking one of the houses (standard size) behind the first curve. Pop the final layer up on dimensionals. Tuck another (tall) house behind the second curve, also popped up on dimensionals. Adhere the final (wide) house, direct to the card front, below the lowest sentiment.

On the Whisper White insert, using Old Olive ink, stamp a sentiment from the Floral Essence set. Add a strip of Trimming the Town DSP down the right hand side.

Alternate colourway

Here’s another version of the same card, this time using Misty Moonlight card and ink and using the blue houses from the DSP.

Thanks for stopping by.
