Tutorial for Xmas Home treat hanger

November 20, 2020

Today’s tutorial is for a dinky little Xmas Home treat hanger. Although these are tiny, they’re quick to make, so you can create a whole bunch of them to hang from the tree. Customise them by using a different colour combination for each family member.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the Xmas Home treat hanger. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

The box is pretty teeny and is too small to hold a larger chocolate such as Lindor or Ferrero Rocher (ask me how I know 🤣) but a couple of chews fit quite easily. If you create a bigger box, for bigger treats, then you would need a bigger “house” to decorate it with and would need to get extra creative at threading the ribbon.

I created a video showing how to make an open box. Please hop over to my Facebook page or Youtube channel to check out the video and Like/Follow/Subscribe for further tips in the future. Thanks!

Although you only need the Coming Home dies to create this particular project, I still recommend buying the bundle. Not only will you have stamps to create scenes long after supplies of the Trimming the Town DSP have ended but for every purchase of this bundle, Stampin’ Up! will make a donation to charities devoted to adoption, foster care, and infertility ❤️

Cut a piece of Misty Moonlight card 4-1/2″ x 2″. With the long edge at the top, score at 1″, 2″, 3″ and 4″. Rotate the card to put the short edge at the top and score at 1″. Fold all scorelines. Assemble as shown in the video. Die cut two of the small heart houses from Misty Moonlight card using the Coming Home dies and adhere one each to the front and back of the open box. Die cut two of the centre small hearts from scraps of Poppy Parade card and pop these up in the negative heart space left behind with mini dimensionals.

Thread Poppy Parade ribbon from the All the Trimmings Ribbon Combo Pack through the front and back rooflines and tie together in a knot. Fill with a treat or two and hang on the tree.

Thanks for stopping by.
