Tutorial for mates birthday card

December 26, 2020

Today’s tutorial is for a Many Mates birthday card and also provides sneak peek of yet another one of our upcoming Sale-a-bration freebies; the Berry Delightful DSP.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the Many Mates birthday card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

The card front shows the front and back of just one of the designs in the Berry Delightful DSP pack. My quick tip video this week shows how to do this quickly and easily. Please hop over to my Facebook page or Youtube channel to check out the video and Like/Follow/Subscribe for further weekly tips in the future. Thanks!

The Berry Delightful DSP is a full pack of 12″ x 12″ paper that includes 2 each of 6 double-sided designs. You’ll need to spend a little extra to get this DSP for free but that’s because it also comes bundled with the Berry Blessings stamp set. Scroll down this post to see an alternative version of the card made with the stamp set.

From 5 January 2021 you’ll have the chance to choose this free Sale-a-bration product when you spend £90.

Start with an A6 portrait card of Blackberry Bliss. Cut decreasing size card front layers from Granny Apple Green and Berry Delightful DSP. Cut the DSP diagonally corner to corner both ways and flip over the design on two opposite sides (see video). Adhere the DSP direct to the Granny Apple Green card front layer and then direct to the card front. Using Blackberry Bliss ink, stamp a sentiment from the Many Mates set onto a small rectangle of Whisper White card. Colour with Blackberry Bliss Blends. Mat onto Blackberry Bliss card and pop up on the card front with dimensionals.

On the Whisper White insert, using Blackberry Bliss ink, stamp another sentiment from the Many Mates set and colour again with Blends. Add a strip of the same DSP used on the front of the card, along the base.

You can find supplies for this Many Mates birthday card in my online shop with the exception of the Berry Delightful DSP which won’t be available until 5 January 2021.

I also made an alternative version of the card using the Berry Blessings stamp set which comes with the DSP. The stamp set includes three sentiments:

  • wishing you the berry best (used here)
  • bountiful blessings
  • you always have a way of making my day

The set also includes outline and solid berry and leaf stamps, some of which I used on the insert here.
