Today’s tutorial is for a shimmer perfection birthday card. It provides a sneak peek of one of our upcoming Sale-a-bration freebies; the Approaching Perfection stamp set.

Each week over on my Facebook page (please pop over and Like or Follow) I choose a product pick of the week to feature. This week I’m sharing the Gray Granite Shimmer Ribbon. This ribbon adds a touch of simple elegance to both masculine and feminine projects. I’ll have a selection of tutorials for you throughout the week that use it.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the shimmer perfection birthday card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

The Approaching Perfection stamp set is a collection of 5 sentiments and two fun party images of a balloon and candles. Some of the sentiments are simple and some are a bit cheeky!

Colour Combo

The colour combo mixes Gray Granite, Whisper White and a spot of Basic Black.

Shimmer perfection birthday card tutorial

Start with an A6 landscape card of Gray Granite. Using Gray Granite ink, stamp a sentiment from the Approaching Perfection set onto the lower right corner of a Whisper White card front layer. Mat onto Basic Black card. Wrap two pieces of Gray Granite Shimmer Ribbon evenly, horizontally, across the top of the card layers and secure them on the reverse. Wrap another two pieces vertically, weaving them over and under the horizontal ribbons. Secure and adhere the layers direct to the front of the card.

On the Whisper White insert, using Gray Granite ink, stamp another sentiment from the Approaching Perfection set. Add the candles at varying heights in the lower right corner.
