Tutorial for stamped donkey card

February 22, 2021

Today’s tutorial is for a simply stamped Darling Donkey birthday card. I’ve kept this one pretty simple. A beginner crafter could make it, but it can also be stepped up very easily, with a few extra layers and embellishments.

Each week over on my Facebook page (please pop over and Like or Follow) I choose a product pick of the week to feature. This week, it’s the Darling Donkeys stamp set which you can get free with a £45 purchase until 28 February. I’ll have a selection of tutorials for you throughout the week that use the stamps. I think I’ve saved the best for last – this set is my favourite!

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the simply stamped Darling Donkey birthday card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

As we’re so close to the end of this year’s Sale-a-bration (28th February), I’ve also incorporated another Sale-a-bration freebie – the Oh So Ombre DSP. The plain ombre paper has been given a different look, by repeat stamping with the Pattern Play stamp set. This is a great set for transforming a plain paper into your very own designer pattern.

Start with an A6 portrait card of Gray Granite. Cut a narrow panel of Basic White card and an identical narrow panel of Oh So Ombre DSP. With the two panels held together, cut a square away from the end of the strips. Using Memento Black ink, stamp the flower donkey from the Darling Donkeys set onto the long panel of Basic White card and colour with Blends. Using Bermuda Bay ink stamp a sentiment from the same set onto the small square of Basic White card and add the “sparkles” all around. With the starburst stamp from the Pattern Play set, stamp a pattern all over the DSP strips with more Bermuda Bay ink. Adhere the stamped panels direct to the front of the card, alternating the paper and card.
