Today’s tutorial is for a blackberry bliss ribbon birthday card. Using the ribbon flat, keeping the card simple and opting for darker colours makes for masculine birthday card. I’ve used this same idea for brighter cards in the past.
Each week over on my Facebook page (please pop over and Like or Follow) I choose a product pick of the week to feature. This week, it’s the Blackberry Bliss Striped Ribbon. I’ll have a selection of tutorials for you throughout the week that use this pretty ribbon in different ways.
In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the blackberry bliss ribbon birthday card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.
This card uses the Artistically Inked stamp set but with a darker colour palette. We’ll be using the set together with other elements of the Expressions in Ink suite for our June class to go, so please keep a lookout for it or email me if you’d like a reminder.
Colour Combo
The colour combo mixes just Blackberry Bliss and Smoky Slate.
Blackberry bliss ribbon birthday card
Start with an A6 landscape card of Blackberry Bliss. Using Blackberry Bliss ink, stamp a sentiment from the Artistically Inked stamp set in the lower right corner of a card front layer of Smoky Slate. Wrap three strands of Blackberry Bliss Striped Ribbon horizontally and evenly around the top portion of the card layer. Adhere three strands of the same ribbon behind the top of the card keeping them spaced evenly with the horizontal ribbons. Weave these vertical ribbons through the horizontal ones, alternating the weave. Adhere the layer direct to the card front.
Blackberry bliss ribbon birthday card insert
On the Basic White insert, stamp another sentiment from the Artistically Inked stamp set using Blackberry Bliss ink. Use the same ink to stamp the marbled ink spot down the right side.
Thanks for stopping by.
