Today’s tutorial is for a pattern party birthday card. Square Brads are used to add a decorative element to a simple birthday card.
Each week over on my Facebook page (please pop over and Like or Follow) I choose a product pick of the week to feature. This week, it’s the Round & Square Brads. I’ll have a selection of tutorials for you throughout the week that share different ideas for using the Brads on your projects.
Sale-a-bration ends on Thursday (30 September), so there’s still time to grab a great goodie free with a purchase!
In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the pattern party birthday card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything anything you don’t already own.
Colour Combo
The colour combo mixes Basic Black, Basic White and Daffodil Delight.
Pattern party birthday card
Start with an A6 portrait card of Basic Black. Cut a card front layer (3-5/8″ x 5-1/4″) of Basic White card. Using Memento Black ink, stamp a sentiment from the A grand Kid set on the upper left of the Basic White layer. Adhere a panel (3-5/8″ x 3″) of Pattern Party DSP to the Basic White card layer. Add a strip (3-5/8″ x 3/8″) of Basic Black directly above the DSP. Adhere these layers direct to a card front layer (3-7/8″ x 5-1/2″) of Daffodil Delight card. Use the Take Your Pick tool and Stampin’ Pierce Mat to add three black, square brads from the Round & Square Brads to the right of the sentiment. Pop the layers up on dimensionals on the card front.
Here’s a short video showing how this quick card comes together. Please subscribe to my Youtube channel to see my quick cards and quick tips each week.
Pattern party birthday card insert
On the Basic White insert, using Memento Black ink, stamp a sentiment from the Happiest of Birthdays set. Add a border of the same pattern of Pattern Party DSP along the base as was used on the card front.
