Tutorial for contour anniversary card

September 29, 2021

Today’s tutorial is for a contour anniversary card. The Polished Pink vellum and ribbon are quite bright and so the design is kept simple so that the card is not too overpowering.

One of the key difficulties when using vellum, is finding ways to secure it without any adhesive showing through. Here we’re using the Round & Square Brads to secure the vellum in place.

Just a quick reminder that Sale-a-bration ends tomorrow, so please don’t miss your last chance to grab a great goodie free with a purchase!

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the contour anniversary card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

Start with an A6 portrait card of Merry Merlot. Die cut an open scallop layer from Smoky Slate card using the Scalloped Contour dies. Use the same die set to cut a stitched scalloped layer from Polished Pink Vellum (part of the 2021–2023 In Color Shimmer Vellum pack) and a slotted scalloped layer from Basic White card. Attach the vellum to the slate layer in each corner with white Round Brads. Pop these layers up on the card front with dimensionals. Using Merry Merlot ink, stamp a sentiment from the Elegantly Said stamp set onto the slotted scalloped layer. Wrap Polished Pink Open Weave Ribbon below the sentiment. Secure a bow of the same ribbon over the top with a white Square Brad. Pop the layer up on the card front with dimensionals.

On the Basic White insert, using Merry Merlot ink, stamp another sentiment from the Elegantly Said stamp set. Stamp the border from the set, top and bottom of the insert with Smoky Slate ink.
