Today’s tutorial is for a simple shimmer ribbon card. Two different DSP packs with gold foiling are tied together with the gold shimmer ribbon.

Each week over on my Facebook page (please pop over and Like or Follow) I choose a product pick of the week to feature. This week, it’s the Gold Shimmer Ribbon. I’ve used the Granite Shimmer Ribbon for a series of projects including this wrapped ribbon card. The gold version of the same type of ribbon works especially well for Christmas projects. I’ll have a selection of tutorials for you throughout the week that share different ideas for using this ribbon.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the simple shimmer ribbon card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything anything you don’t already own.

The green and gold DSP and the gems used on this card are sneak peeks from the Eden’s Garden suite which will be available from 2 November.

Colour Combo

The colour combo mixes Blackberry Bliss, Soft Succulent and Metallic Gold.

Simple shimmer ribbon card

Start with an A6 portrait card of Blackberry Bliss. Cut a card front layer (3-7/8″ x 5-1/2″) of Soft Succulent card. Cut a (1-1/4″ x 5-1/4″) panel of Blackberry Beauty DSP and one (2-3/8″ x 5-1/4″) of Ever Eden DSP. Adhere the panels direct to the Soft Succulent card front layer. Wrap Gold Shimmer Ribbon around the join in the DSP and secure on the reverse. Adhere the layer direct to the card front. Using Blackberry Bliss ink, stamp a sentiment from the Artistically Inked set onto a small label of Basic White card die cut (and embossed) with the Tasteful Labels dies. Using Soft Succulent ink, stamp leaves from the Forever Fern set above the sentiment. Add Garden Gems below the sentiment and pop up on dimensionals onto the card front. Tie another piece of Gold Shimmer Ribbon onto the wrapped ribbon to finish.

On the Basic White insert, using Blackberry Bliss ink, stamp a sentiment from the Artistically Inked set. Add right and left borders of leaves from the Forever Fern set using Soft Succulent ink.
