Today’s tutorial is for an eden’s garden ribbon cracker. The gold shimmer ribbon is used to tie the cotton paper closed in a decorative way.

Ever Eden Cotton Paper (the pack includes 5 sheets each of both Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent) is thin but very strong – perfect for this Christmas cracker style project.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the eden’s garden ribbon cracker. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

The specialty DSP and the cotton paper used on this project, are both sneak peeks from the Eden’s Garden suite which will be available from 2 November. Although there is a bundle of stamps and dies that are an early release from the January–June 2022 Mini Catalogue, the DSP and cotton paper are exclusive to the promotion and only available until 3 January, or while stocks last.

Colour Combo

The colour combo mixes Evening Evergreen, Metallic Gold and Basic White.

Eden’s garden ribbon cracker

Start with a 5″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Ever Eden Specialty DSP. Adhere this direct to the centre of a 12″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Ever Eden Cotton Paper. Tip – leave a 1/2″ gap between the adhesive and the edge of the DSP so that there is some “give” to the cotton paper. Apply adhesive (I recommend Tear & Tape) to one long edge of the Cotton Paper and DSP layers. Roll into a tube and adhere in place. Tie Gold Shimmer Ribbon in a bow close to one edge of the DSP. Add your treats (I could fit 3 Raffaellos in here) and tie the other end of the cracker in the same way. Using Evening Evergreen ink, stamp a sentiment from Sparkle of the Season set onto Basic White card. Punch out with the plain oval of the Double Oval punch. Punch out a scalloped oval from Gold Foil. Adhere the sentiment direct to the Gold label and pop up on the front of the cracker with dimensionals.
