Tutorial for giving gifts birthday card

December 1, 2021

Today’s tutorial is for a giving gifts birthday card. We’re adding the leaf dies as accents for the Blackberry Beauty Specialty DSP.

This was one of the make and take cards at our October Paper Dolls team meeting.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the giving gifts birthday card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

The Giving Gifts die set includes some great rectangular aperture dies but I think that the leaves on their own are well worth getting this set for. They’re perfect for covering the odd mistake as well as scattering over a larger card.

Colour Combo

The colour combo mixes Rich Razzleberry, Blackberry Bliss and Metallic Bronze.

Start with an A6 portrait card of Rich Razzleberry. Cut a card front layer of Blackberry Bliss card and die cut with the rectangular Picture This die. Adhere a card front layer of Blackberry Beauty Specialty DSP (slightly smaller than the die cut layer) direct to the card front. Pop the die cut layer up on the card front with dimensionals. Using Blackberry Bliss ink, stamp a sentiment from the Party Puffins set onto a skinny strip of Very Vanilla card. Pop the sentiment up on dimensionals into the centre aperture. Die cut leaves from Brushed Metallic card using the Giving Gifts dies. Adhere the leaves randomly around the card front.

On the Very Vanilla insert, using Blackberry Bliss ink, stamp another sentiment from the Party Puffins set. Add a trio of leaves from the Time of Giving set with the same ink. Finish with a border of the Blackberry Beauty Specialty DSP from the card front.

Thanks for stopping by.
