Today’s tutorial is for a doily birthday card. This fun z-fold card gives a sneak peek of the new Heart & Home Doilies coming in the January-June 2022 catalogue.
Usually, each week over on my Facebook page (please pop over and Like or Follow) I choose a product pick of the week to feature. However, because so many retiring items have already sold out, I’m suspending the pick of the week and also the supply lists that usually go with the tutorials. I’ll resume both in the new year when we have fresh goodies for you all.
Instead, until January, I’ll share projects that all include a sneak peek of what we have coming up for you. Some projects may only include one sneak peek, others may have more, so please stop by regularly to check.
In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the doily birthday card.
Sneak Peek
The sneak peek on this card is the doily. This is from the Heart & Home Doilies pack. Each pack (£4.75) has 30 paper doilies, 10 each in Basic Gray, Cinnamon Cider and Misty Moonlight. Each doily is white on the reverse, so you can always colour them to match your project if you wish.
Colour Combo
The colour combo mixes Misty Moonlight and Basic White.
Doily birthday card
Start with an A6 landscape card of Misty Moonlight. Fold the front of the card back on itself to create the z-fold (see the video below). Mat the inside back of the card with a 3-7/8″ x 5-1/2″ layer of Beauty of the Earth DSP. Mat the front fold of the card with a 1-13/16″ x 5-1/2″ layer of Beauty of the Earth DSP. Using Misty Moonlight ink, stamp a sentiment from the Peaceful Moments stamp set, onto a Layering Circle of Basic White card. Adhere the sentiment to a Heart & Home Doily. Adhere (just one half – see the video) of the doily to the card front. Finish with Garden Gems (available until 3 January or while stocks last).
Here’s a short video showing how this quick card comes together. Please subscribe to my Youtube channel to see my quick cards and quick tips each week.
Doily birthday card inside
The insert is simply another Layering Circle of Basic White, lined up behind the doily.
Thanks for stopping by.
