Tutorial for driving by card

December 31, 2021

Happy New Year! Today’s tutorial is for a driving by card. It combines one of our Sale-a-bration stamp sets (available from 4 January) with Ever Eden Specialty DSP (only available until 3 January, or while stocks last).

Don’t forget that although the Ever Eden stamps and dies will continue to be around until end of June 2022 with the new Mini Catalogue, the Specialty DSP, Cotton Paper and Garden Gems are only be available for a few more days. Don’t miss out!

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the driving by card.

Usually, each week over on my Facebook page (please pop over and Like or Follow) I choose a product pick of the week to feature. However, because so many retiring items have already sold out, I’ve suspended the pick of the week and also the supply lists that usually go with the tutorials. I’ll resume both in the new year when we have fresh goodies for you all.

Instead, until January, I’m sharing projects that all include a sneak peek of what we have coming up for you in January. Some projects may only include one sneak peek, others may have more, so please stop by regularly to check.

Sneak Peek

The sneak peek on this card is the Driving By stamp set. This set will be free with a £45 purchase during Sale-a-bration. It includes 3 different vehicles (great for colouring in) and 3 different sentiments.

Start with an A6 landscape card of Evening Evergreen. Mat with a card front layer of Poppy Parade card and then Ever Eden Specialty DSP. Die cut four different size labels; two each from Evening Evergreen and Basic White card using the Hippo & Friends dies. Using Memento Black ink, stamp a sentiment from the Driving By set to the smallest white label. Mat this onto the smaller Evening Evergreen label. Using Memento Black ink again, stamp the car with balloons from the Driving By set on to the remaining white label. Colour the car with the Evening Evergreen Blends, the wheels and bumper with Smoky Slate Blends and the balloons with Poppy Parade Blends. Mat this onto the larger Evening Evergreen label. Pop the card up on the card front with dimensionals. Pop the sentiment up with another dimensional, adhering the overlapping portion direct.

I usually share a quick tip video on a Friday. My tip this week has nothing to do with this card but is all about finding inspiration. You can check it out here.

On the Basic White insert, using Memento Black ink, stamp another sentiment from the Driving By stamp set. Stamp just the front of two of the cars in opposite corners at the base of the insert. Colour them with the Evening Evergreen and Smoky Slate Blends.

Thanks for stopping by.
