Tutorial for ladybug birthday card

April 1, 2022

Today’s tutorial is for a ladybug birthday card. This is an upsized card to celebrate a kid’s fourth birthday.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the ladybug birthday card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything anything you don’t already own.

Start with an A5 portrait card of Poppy Parade. Mat with Pattern Party DSP. Use the Stamparatus to stamp all solid colours twice. Cut a large square of Basic White card. Using the Granny Apple Green ink, stamp the large leaf from the Hello Ladybug set in each corner. Mat onto Poppy Parade card and then onto Basic Black card. Pop up on the card front with dimensionals. Back a scrap of the Ombre Specialty Paper with Foam Adhesive Sheet and then die cut the birthday number from it using the Playful Alphabet dies. Adhere the number to the centre of the leaf stamped square.

Stamp the ladybug wings from the Hello Ladybug set with Poppy Parade ink four times onto Basic White card. Allow to dry fully. Using Memento Black ink, stamp the ladybug body and also the black spots onto the stamped wings. Once dry, punch out with the Ladybug Builder Punch and adhere together. Pop up on the card front over the leaves with action wobble springs, positioning the ladybugs in different directions.

Using Memento Black ink stamp the sentiment from the Biggest Wish set onto a panel of Basic White card. Mat onto Poppy Parade card and then onto Basic Black card. Pop up on the card front with dimensionals.

Here’s a short video with tips on using the Stamparatus, which I really recommend for creating this card. Please subscribe to my Youtube channel to see my quick cards and quick tips each week.

On the Basic White insert, using Memento Black ink, stamp a sentiment from the Slim Sayings set. Stamp the walking ladybug three times in a row using the same ink. Add a red body over the top of each with Poppy Parade ink.
