Today’s tutorial is for a Bragworthy towels card. This fun sentiment made me think about trying to create some mini “towels” from ribbon. The background DSP is from the retiring Pattern Party pack (an exclusive product available only to hosts or shoppers with qualifying sales) as it reminded me of bathroom tiling.

This was my swap card for my team last month when I set a theme of using ribbon on the swap project.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the Bragworthy towels card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything anything you don’t already own.

Colour Combo

The colour combo mixes Basic Black, Balmy Blue and Blushing Bride.

Bragworthy towels card

Start with an A6 portrait card of Basic Black. Mat with a card front layer of Pattern Party DSP. On a panel of Basic White, stamp a sentiment from the Bragworthy set with Memento Black ink. Stamp the same sentiment onto both Balmy Blue and Blushing Bride card. Trim the “young and cool” line from the Balmy Blue sentiment and the “new towels” line from the Blushing Bride sentiment. Adhere these strips over the original white version and trim away any excess. Mat the altered sentiment on Basic Black card.

Cut a large panel of Basic White card and mat onto Basic Black card. Pop the sentiment panel up on dimensionals on the upper section of the plain panel. Cut two small lengths of the White Frayed Ribbon. Fray the ends of the ribbon and colour a “border” on each towel, one blue and one pink. Create a “towel rail” by cutting a very skinny strip of Basic Black card. Zigzag fold at each end and adhere the ends below the sentiment panel. Fold the “towels” over the rail and fasten in position with Mini Glue Dots. Pop the large panel up on the card front with dimensionals.

On the Basic White insert, using Memento Black ink, stamp a sentiment from the Slim Sayings set. Add a border of the Pattern Party DSP along the base.
