Today’s tutorial is for a Hello Beautiful birthday card. This would work with a variety of bold or bright colours substituting for the Bermuda Bay.

Although the Hello Beautiful stamps and Beautiful Shapes dies are available separately in the new Annual Catalogue, you only have until 30 June to snag the 10% discount when buying them as a bundle.

This was one of the make and takes at a Paper Dolls meeting a few months ago. A few of the items used have already retired but you could substitute with the White Glittered Organdy Ribbon and an alternative sentiment on the inside.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the Hello Beautiful birthday card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything anything you don’t already own.

Colour Combo

The colour combo mixes Bermuda Bay, Basic Black and Metallic Gold.

Hello Beautiful birthday card

Start with an A6 portrait card of Basic Black. Cut a card front layer of Bermuda Bay and run through the Hive 3D embossing folder. Tie together pieces of Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon (retired) and Gold Shimmer Ribbon and wrap around the embossed layer, securing on the reverse. Adhere the layer direct to the card front. Using Memento Black ink, stamp a sentiment from the Peaceful Moments set onto a scrap of Basic White card. Die cut the sentiment with the 2nd largest hexagon in the Beautiful Shapes dies. Adhere direct to a larger hexagon die cut from Basic Black and pop up on the card front with dimensionals.

Cut further hexagons from Basic Black card, Abstract Beauty Specialty DSP, Gold Foil and Supple Shimmer Specialty Paper. Pop these up on the card front with dimensionals, nesting some and overlapping others. Finish with Matte Black Dots.

Hello Beautiful birthday card insert

On the Basic White insert, using Memento ink, stamp a sentiment from the Happiest of Birthdays stamp set (retired). Stamp the trio of palm trees from the same set in the lower left corner. Add a border of the Abstract Beauty Specialty DSP down the right hand side and then add a skinny strip of Basic Black card.
