Today’s tutorial is for a Lights Aglow birthday card. The Lights Aglow DSP is great to use for Christmas cards but it can be used for other occasions too. I took one of the brighter designs and combined it with the same (but larger) dotted pattern in the Specialty Foil for a colourful birthday card. I also created a Congrats card with another pattern of the DSP in my Online Workshop this month.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the Lights Aglow birthday card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

Colour Combo

This colour combo mixes Metallic Gold, Cherry Cobbler and Evening Evergreen.

Lights Aglow birthday card

Start with an A6 portrait card of Cherry Cobbler. Mat with Evening Evergreen card. Cut a short panel of Lights Aglow DSP and adhere direct to the upper card front. Cut a slightly longer panel of Gold Festive Foils Specialty DSP and adhere direct to the lower card front. Cover the join with a skinny strip of Gold Glimmer Specialty Paper. Die cut a frame from Gold Festive Foils Specialty DSP with All That dies (see video). Trim a small scrap of Basic White card to fit behind the frame. Using Cherry Cobbler ink, stamp a sentiment from the Cottage Rose set onto the prepared label. Pop the frame up over the sentiment with strips of dimensionals and adhere the recessed sentiment direct to the card front.

Lights Aglow birthday card insert

On the Basic White insert, using Cherry Cobbler ink, stamp sentiments from the Biggest Wish stamp set. Add strips of the Lights Aglow DSP and the Gold Festive Foils Specialty DSP, along the base.
