Tutorial for quick Pencilled sympathy card

October 4, 2022

Today’s tutorial is for a quick Pencilled sympathy card. A little spot colouring is added to the black and white paper.

Each week over on my Facebook page (please pop over and Like or Follow) I choose a product pick of the week to feature. This week, it’s the Perfectly Pencilled DSP. I’ll have a selection of tutorials for you throughout the week, that share different ideas for using these black and white papers.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the quick Pencilled sympathy card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

This colour combo mixes Basic Black, Poppy Parade and Shaded Spruce.

Start with an A6 landscape card of Basic Black. Mat with a card front layer (5-1/2″ x 3-7/8″) of Poppy Parade card. Cut a panel (5-1/4″ x 3-5/8″) of Perfectly Penciled DSP. Using the Label Me Lovely punch, punch one label from Basic White and another from Basic Black. Stamp a sentiment from the Peaceful Moments set onto the white label. Snip the black label in two (trim the edges) and adhere direct behind the white label. Decide on the positioning of the sentiment label and select a flower to colour. Colour the flower with Poppy Parade and Shaded Spruce in your preferred colouring medium. Adhere the DSP layer direct to the card front. Pop the sentiment up on dimensionals. Finish with a trio of Red Rhinestones.

Here’s a short video showing how this quick card comes together. Please subscribe to my Youtube channel to see my quick cards and quick tips each week.

On the Basic White insert, using Memento Black ink, stamp another sentiment from the Peaceful Moments set. Add a border of the Perfectly Penciled DSP down the right side.
