Tutorial for birthday floret card

December 14, 2022

Today’s tutorial is for a birthday floret card. This was my swap card for my team mates back in November.

Don’t forget that the Fitting Florets DSP and the Adhesive-backed Swirls are limited edition and will only be available until 4 January or while supplies last.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the birthday floret card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

Our team has a themed swap each month and this one was a sketch. I think my card was pretty close (but then it should be as I set the theme)!

Start with an A6 portrait card of Evening Evergreen. Take a card front layer of simple, light patterned Fitting Florets DSP. Add a strip of a darker pattern from the same pack down the left side, leaving a small margin. Wrap Evening Evergreen Open Weave Ribbon around the base of the layers and secure on the reverse. Adhere the layers direct to the card front. Add a bow of the same Evening Evergreen Ribbon to the wrapped ribbon, on the right.

Die cut out the outer ridged oval frame from Evening Evergreen card with the Framed Florets dies. Use the same Framed Florets die to die cut an inner oval from Basic White card. Using Evening Evergreen ink, stamp a sentiment from the Framed Florets set onto the oval. Pop both ovals up on the card front with dimensionals. Die cut a single flower from Fitting Florets DSP and a leaf spray from Balmy Blue card. Adhere the leaf spray below the sentiment and pop the flower up on a dimensional at the base. Finish the flower with a single Gold Adhesive-Backed Swirl and add a trio of them at the top left of the patterned strip of DSP.

On the Basic White insert, using Evening Evergreen ink, stamp another sentiment from the Framed Florets set. Add a small spray of flowers in the lower left corner with the same ink.

Thanks for stopping by.
