Stampin’ Up! Independent Demonstrator

Tutorial for beautifully happy thoughts card

February 15, 2023

Today’s tutorial is for a beautifully happy thoughts card. I made a batch of these to go out with catties before Christmas and they come together quite quickly because the stamps do all the “colouring in”.

As these were effectively demonstration samples for my customers I also incorporated the Dandy Designs DSP (also free with a £90 purchase during Sale-a-bration) but you could substitute with Rain or Shine Specialty DSP.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the beautifully happy thoughts card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own (the order code for the Beautifully Happy stamp set is 160804).

Start with an A6 portrait card of Pear Pizzazz. Mat with Fresh Freesia card and Dandy Designs DSP. Using the Scalloped Contours set die cut a main image panel from Basic White card. Using Old Olive ink, stamp the large floral spray from the Beautifully Happy set angled at a slight diagonal. Overstamp the leaves and the buds and sepals with Pear Pizzazz ink. Add the flower petals with Mango Melody ink. Using Cajun Craze ink, stamp both the flower stamen and also the sentiment.

Using Memento Black ink, add the bee close to the flower spray. Colour the bee in with Stampin’ Blends (Dark Smoky Slate and Light So Saffron). Pop the stamped panel up on the card front with dimensionals.

On the Basic White insert, using Old Olive ink, stamp the small flower from the Beautifully Happy set a little way above the right lower corner. Overstamp the petals with Mango Melody ink, sepals and bud with Pear Pizzazz ink and stamen with Cajun Craze ink. Add a borders of Dandy Designs DSP below the flower.

Thanks for stopping by.

I would not have thought to put those colours together, but they work beautifully. It just shows how we need to think outside the box and experiment. Thank you.

You’re welcome Lynn. It’s often about the amounts of colours mixed – I’ve only used the slightest hint of the Fresh Freesia here so that it complements rather than competes with the Mango Melody and Pear Pizzazz 😊
