Tutorial for daisy border birthday card

May 31, 2023

Today’s tutorial is for a daisy border birthday card. This time the border is used to edge the front of the card and let the insert backing show through.

This card is a stepped up version of the solid gems anniversary card. I’ve rotated the layout to a portrait rather than landscape design and added a cutaway front with the border die. Instead of the Adhesive-Backed Solid Gems, we’re using the 2023-2025 In Color Dots.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the daisy border birthday card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

Start with an A6 portrait card of Copper Clay. Using the Elegant Borders dies, die cut the edge, lining up the cutting edge approx. 3-1/2″ from the fold line. Cut a 2″ x 5-1/2″ panel of Fresh as Daisy DSP and adhere direct to the card front.

Cut a 2″ x 5-13/16″ panel of plain Boho Blue Fresh as Daisy DSP. Using Misty Moonlight ink, stamp a sentiment from the Artistically Inked set along the long edge of the DSP. Adhere direct to the outer inside back of the card. Cut a 1-7/8″ x 5-13/16″ panel of Basic White card. Using Misty Moonlight ink, stamp another sentiment from the Artistically Inked set in the centre. Adhere direct to the inner inside back of the card, butted up against the DSP. (Tip – don’t take the insert all the way to the centre or the card cannot fold properly). Finish with a trio of 2023-2025 In Color Dots in the upper right corner.

Thanks for stopping by.
