Today’s tutorial is for a quick botanical card. I’ve used two different leaf patterns but the Inked Botanicals DSP pack contains a variety of colour pairings that would work equally well (see video). I’ve combined this DSP with elements from the Online Exclusive – Hello, Irresistible Collection which includes a similar colour scheme.

Each week over on my Facebook page (please pop over and Like or Follow) I choose a product pick of the week to feature. This week, it’s the Inked Botanicals DSP. This is a pack of 6″ x 6″ designs with a total of 48 sheets – 4 each of 12 double-sided patterns. I’ll have tutorials for you this week, that share different ideas for using these delicately patterned papers.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the quick botanical card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

Colour Combo

This colour combo mixes Lost Lagoon, Pool Party and Calypso Coral.

Quick botanical card

Start with a 5″ square card of Lost Lagoon. Cut a (4-3/4″ x 4-3/4″) card front layer of Inked Botanicals DSP and adhere direct to the card front. Cut a (3″ x 3″) card front layer of another pattern of the Inked Botanicals DSP and adhere direct to a (3-1/4″ x 3-1/4″) mat of Lost Lagoon card. Pop the layers up on the card front with dimensionals, rotating to a diamond shape. Using Lost Lagoon ink, stamp a sentiment from the Irresistible Blooms set onto a scrap of Basic White card. Punch out with the plain oval from the Double Oval punch. Adhere direct to a scalloped oval punched from Lost Lagoon card with the same punch. Adhere the two together and then pop the layered labels up on the card front with dimensionals. Finish with some Loose Frosted Dots.

Quick botanical card insert

On the Basic White insert, using Lost Lagoon ink, stamp another sentiment from the Hello Irresistible stamp set. Add a border of the Inked Botanicals DSP along the base.
