Today I’m sharing the Mother’s Day card I made for my MIL. This version is in a square format, using bright and cheery In Colors.
Although Mother’s Day is now gone in the UK, this same design would also work well for a Spring birthday card (and of course for Mother’s Day in the US which is later in the year than the UK).
It’s a shaker card and so the flowers inside the window shake around (like falling blossom).
The colour combo uses In Colors from two different sets; Pineapple Punch, and Berry Burst along with Soft Suede.
The card base is a 5″ square of Pineapple Punch, stamped with the Crackle Paint background using Pineapple Punch ink. A frame was die cut from more Pineapple Punch card using the Rectangle Stitched framelits and Window Sheet adhered behind. Foam Adhesive Strips were arranged around the reverse sides of the frame and Berry Burst flowers scattered inside, die cut using the Seasonal Layers thinlits. Soft Suede and Berry Burst inks were used to stamp the branch and blossoms from Colorful Seasons and the sentiment from Tea Together onto a panel of Whisper White card. The back panel was adhered to the other shaker elements and then all were adhered direct to the front of the card. A larger branch was die cut from Soft Suede card using the Seasonal Layers thinlits and adhered direct to the frame. Finally more flowers from the Colourful Seasons set were stamped onto scraps of Whisper White card with Berry Burst and Soft Suede inks. These were die cut out with the matching Seasonal Layers thinlits and adhered to the branch.
On the Whisper White insert, the branch from Colorful Seasons was stamped twice at different angles using Soft Suede ink and bright blossoms from the set were added with Berry Burst ink.
Thanks for stopping by.
