Today’s tutorial is for a rainbow pattern card. As I was waiting on the wonderful Sale-a-bration Sunshine & Rainbows DSP arriving, I used the host DSP pack, Pattern Party instead. This pack has several rainbow coloured designs within it.
This was one of the make and takes at our Paper Dolls team meeting in December. I demonstrated one version stamped with the Rainbow of Happiness stamp set and also showed another version stamped with the Shaded Summer set. You can see this version by scrolling down.
In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the rainbow pattern card.
Sneak Peek
The sneak peek on this card is the Rainbow of Happiness bundle. A stamp set (£17) and co-ordinating die set (£29) that can be bought bundled (£41.25), saving 10%.
Colour Combo
The colour combo mixes Balmy Blue, Basic White and Night of Navy.
Rainbow pattern card
Start with an A6 portrait card of Balmy Blue. Adhere a card front layer of Pattern Party DSP direct to the card front. Cut a card front layer of Balmy Blue card and die cut with the partial rainbow from the Brilliant Rainbow Dies set. Using Night of Navy ink, stamp a sentiment from the Rainbow of Happiness stamp set in the top right corner of the die cut layer and then adhere direct to the card front. Use the same die set to die cut three small clouds from scraps of Basic White card and pop them up over the rainbow with mini dimensionals.
Rainbow pattern card insert
On the Basic White insert, using Night of Navy ink, stamp another sentiment from the Rainbow of Happiness stamp set. Add a border of the same pattern of Pattern Party DSP used on the front, along the base.
This is the version stamped with the Shaded Summer stamp set and using a different pattern of Pattern Party DSP.
With a simple “thank you” on the inside.
Thanks for stopping by.
