Tutorial for Horizons thank you card

May 25, 2022

Today’s tutorial is for a Horizons thank you card. This time I’m using one of the patterns that is more of a “scene” within itself. It really doesn’t need a lot adding to it.

This was one of the make and takes at my last Paper Dolls meeting. As there are a limited number of papers in the pack with this particular “scene” pattern, I also chose another “scene” (scroll down to see) and team members got one or the other within their pack. This month is a great time to join our team as you get an extra In Color pack with your starter kit when you sign up (offer ends 31 May).

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the Horizons thank you card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything anything you don’t already own.

Start with an A6 landscape card of Blackberry Bliss. Cut a card front layer (5-1/2″ x 3-7/8″) of New Horizons DSP. Using Stitched Rectangle dies, cut a centre from the DSP layer. Adhere the outer DSP frame centrally and direct, to the card front. Mat the die cut centre onto more Blackberry Bliss card, 1/4″ taller and wider than the DSP. Pop this up on the card front with dimensionals, ensuring the “scene” runs true. Die cut a narrow Stitched Rectangle strip from Basic White card. Using Blackberry Bliss ink, stamp a sentiment from the Pansy Patch set onto the die cut strip. Pop the sentiment up on the card front with mini dimensionals, stacking two together under the strip that overlaps the edge of the card.

On the Basic White insert, add a border of the DSP left over from the card front, down the right hand side.

This was the other pattern of New Horizons DSP that we used and the card was turned to a portrait orientation to make the most of the scene.
