Today’s tutorial is for a Rings of Love grid card. This grid layout can be used with any colour co-ordinated papers. This is another design that would work well as a new home card.
I shared the design with my Paper Dolls team last month and we made a Christmas card together (scroll down to see the alternative card made with the same Rings of Love DSP pack). It’s not too late to join my team and get the extra Making Plans Collection during Sale-a-bration.
In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the Rings of Love grid card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own (the order code for the Rings of Love DSP is 159939).
Colour Combo
This colour combo mixes Mint Macaron, Night of Navy and Petal Pink.
Rings of Love grid card
Start with an A6 landscape card of Night of Navy. Mat with a 5-1/2″ x 3-7/8″ card front layer of Mint Macaron. Cut a 1-3/4″ border from a sheet of Rings of Love DSP. Cut two 1-3/4″ wide sections from the border (squares) and also a 3-3/8″ section. Adhere these direct to the card front layer in a grid design (flipping one of the squares over to show the different pattern). Cut a 1-3/4″ x 3-3/8″ sentiment panel from Basic White card. Using Petal Pink ink, stamp the large flower (poinsettia style) from the Ringed With Nature stamp set on the left of the panel. Add small leaves with Mint Macaron ink, stamping off first for a lighter shade for one or two of the leaves. Using Night of Navy ink, stamp a sentiment from the same stamp set. Pop the sentiment panel up on the card front to finish the grid pattern.
Here’s a short video showing how to create the grid and sharing a few extra tips. Please subscribe to my Youtube channel to see my quick cards and quick tips each week.
Rings of Love grid card insert
On the Basic White insert, stamp another sentiment from the Ringed With Nature stamp set using Night of Navy ink. In the lower right corner, stamp the house from the set with Mint Macaron ink and add the roof with Soft Suede ink.
Here’s the Christmas version that was a make and take at our Paper Dolls meeting. We used Poppy Parade and Evening Evergreen card, with the same Rings of Love DSP. Then we added a more 3D poinsettia using die cuts from the Pretty Pillowbox dies set.
Thanks for stopping by.
