I’m loving the washi tapes in the new catty, particularly the pretty Gingham Garden set. We’ve been using them in some of our make and take cards at my recent Hostess Appreciation and Open House events.
They’re an easier and cheaper alternative to ribbon, lay flatter and lighter for cheaper posting and can look either smart or distressed. Once my ladies have had a chance to try them out, they’ve been pleasantly surprised – what’s not to like
This simple birthday card was a chance for them to give it a go. The colour combo was taken from the colours of the tapes.
The card base is a Night of Navy A6 landscape, matted with Melon Mambo card. A more elaborate birthday sentiment from the Delightful Dozen set (W128547 or C122652) was stamped in Melon Mambo ink onto a Whisper White mat. Pieces of the Gingham Garden washi tapes (129314) were torn off and overlapped around the sentiment to make a frame before the mat was added to the card front. Itty Bitty flowers (118309) were punched from Night of Navy, Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight card, shaped, adhered to the card and topped with Basic Rhinestones (119246).
It’s really easy then to step the design up by adding another stamp set and punch.
For this card Sassy Salutations (W132070 or C126707 – 25% off this month only) was used for the sentiment (with Night of Navy ink). The larger flowers were stamped with the Flower Shop stamp set* (W130939 or C130942) punched out with the Pansy* (130698) and the centres topped by the other flower in the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack.
* Buy the Flower Shop stamp set and the Pansy punch together and 15% off (W132727 or C132726) – please note the prices in the catalogue are incorrect, it’s actually cheaper – Wood £30.75 and Clear £27.25.
We’ll be using the Flower Shop and Pansy punch combo for our make and take at Team Training tomorrow. I’m just cutting the supplies for it now so you’re not too late to let me know if you’d like to join us
