Quatrefancy wrapped box

January 2, 2014

First of all, a quick message to let you know that our newsletter will be sent out tomorrow instead of today (SU! haven’t announced a January offer/new product so far which is a little unusual and so we’re giving it an extra day just in case there’s something on the way). Don’t get the newsletter yet? You can sign up now using the box top right and have it emailed to you free of charge -two editions each month Laughing

Now for the crafting. And yes, I’ve cut into more of my Quatrefancy Specialty DSP today Smile

This time it’s used as a wrap for an open box.

Great for packaging handmade chocolates but if you don’t have time for that then the January sales is an ideal time to pick up large boxes of chocs at a discount price. They can then be portioned out into your own smaller handmade boxes – bargain!

The box base is a 6″ x 6″ piece of Natural Composition Specialty DSP (126917) scored at 1″ on all four sides. A semi-circle was punched mid way along opposite edges of the box base using the 1″ Circle punch. After snipping the corners of  the box base, top and bottom as far as the scoreline, they were folded in and adhered. For the box wrap, a piece of 4″ x 11″ Quatrefancy Specialty printed window sheet (130141) was scored 0n the Scoring Tool (122334) at 2″, 3″, 7″, 8″. (To be honest this was a little too snug so if you need a looser wrap I’d suggest trying scoring at 2″, 3-1/8″, 7-1/8″, and 8-1/4″). A piece of Crumb Cake Seam Binding Ribbon (122332) was fastened around the centre of the wrap. The printed window sheet was then wrapped around the box base and adhered on the underside using Sticky Strip. Label Love (Wood 130619 or Clear 130622) was used to stamp the sentiment onto Crisp Cantaloupe card using Early Espresso ink. After punching out with the Artisan Label (130920) it was matted onto another punched from Early Espresso snipped across the centre and popped up on dimensionals over the wrap ribbon. (Buy the stamp set and punch together as a Label Love bundle and save 15% – Wood 132723 or Clear 132722). One of the motifs from Mosaic Madness (Wood 130246 or Clear 130249) was stamped four times onto Crisp Cantaloupe card using Early Espresso ink and punched out with the Mosaic (131267). (Buy the stamp set and punch together as a Mosaic Madness bundle and save 15% – Wood 132734 or Clear 132733). The mosaic were popped up in each corner with a dimensional and a Neutrals Candy Dot (130934) added to the centre of each.

Finally, the box was filled with a mix of small choccies.
