Easter/St David’s Day daffodil tag topper bag

easter tag topper treat close up

This was another of the Scalloped Tag Topper projects that I demonstrated on Saturday at the Papercraft Show. I’m sharing it today because although I made it as an Easter treat, the daffodil means it would also work well for St David’s Day on Saturday – so there’s still time to make yours, or add some mini daffies to your cards or projects Laughing

The basic Scalloped Tag Topper (133324) bag was made in the same way as the one here, using a different sheet of the Sweet Sorbet DSP (SAB freebie 133521) and  a skinny cello bag (124134) filled with sweets was popped inside.

For the tag itself, the sentiment from Delightful Dozen (Wood 128547 or Clear 122652) was stamped in Calypso Coral ink onto Whisper White card, punched out with the Curly Label (119851) and matted onto a Decorative Label (120907) punched from Crisp Cantaloupe card. A narrow strip of Pistachio Pudding card was adhered for the stem of the flower and the leaves were created by punching angled slivers of the same card with the Large Oval (119855). The large flower head was made by punching Summer Starfruit card (to match the folded back paper but you could choose Daffodil Delight or Crushed Curry instead) with the Petite Petals punch (133322) and shaping the petals gently. To create the flower trumpet, a four petalled Itty Bitty flower (118309) was punched from the same cardstock and each of the petals folded to the centre before adhering in the centre of the flower. Gold Bakers Twine (132975) was used to tie it to the treat bag.

Of course you can always up-size your daffies for other projects, by using larger flower punches Laughing
