Hexagon Hive birthday card

April 8, 2014

A bit of a cheat today – my card uses the Sweet Sorbet DSP from this year’s Sale-a-bration … which has now ended and is unavailable, but …

… you can still get a pack of this lovely paper for free, by booking a workshop with me this month.

The card base is an A6 landscape of Basic Black. Hexagon Hive (132965) was used to die cut  the patterned aperture from Pistachio Pudding card, which was then adhered over the top of Sweet Sorbet DSP. Pistachio Pudding Ruffle Stretch Trim (130020) was wrapped twice around the hexagon hive layers, once upright and once upside down. Basic Black Taffeta Ribbon (119261) was then wrapped around to cover the join and a tiny bow of the same ribbon added with  Mini Glue Dot. The layers were then popped up on the card front with dimensionals. The sentiment from Petite Pairs (Wood 128706 or Clear 122497) was stamped in Basic Black ink onto Pistachio Pudding card and then punched out with the Hexagon (130919). This was adhered to a 1-3/8″ Circle (119860) punched from Whisper White card and then both were popped up on dimensionals onto a 1-3/4″ Circle (119850) punched from Basic Black card. More Pistachio Pudding Ruffle Stretch Trim was adhered around the edges of the sentiment before popping up on the card front.

A sentiment from Seasonal Sayings (Wood 131937 or Clear 128009) was stamped in Basic Black ink onto the Whisper White insert and a border from Background Builders (Wood 129147 or Clear 129150) was stamped in Pistachio Pudding ink.

Thanks for stopping by.
