Well I had a brilliant morning and afternoon with my Paper Dolls team mates (we missed those of you who couldn’t make it 🙁 ).
The venue had mixed reviews. On the one hand it was a bit noisy and a bit overlooked, on the other hand, it’s easy to get to for most team members, has free and plentiful parking and it only costs a cup of coffee. (And I got to meet two lovely ladies who were only there for the coffee but also have an interest in crafting and wouldn’t have heard of us otherwise). We’re going to give it another go for our next team meeting but we’ll aim to get there earlier when it’s a bit quieter. No date fixed yet but let me know if you want to come along and I’ll keep you updated.
As well as catching up on SU! and each other’s news we did also manage a make and take. It would have helped if I’d remembered the glue dots and thank goodness Mari had her scissors because I forgot those too, but all was well in the end 🙂
I haven’t got a pic of the make and take project yet but as we used the Envelope Punch Board I thought I’d share another project that uses it:
The “cracker” was made with Eastern Elegance DSP (130131), following the tutorial I shared here. After stamping the Mr & Mrs sentiment from Label Love* (Wood 130619 or Clear 130622) in Smoky Slate ink onto Whisper White card, it was punched out with the Artisan Label* (130920). This was matted onto another Artisan Label punched from Smoky Slate card that had been snipped across the centre and then the layers were popped up on dimensionals in the centre of the cracker. Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon (109070) was used to tie the ends of the cracker.
*Buy the stamp set and punch together as a Label Love bundle and save 15% – Wood Bundle 132723 or Clear Bundle 132722
Of course you can easily change the occasion by selecting a different stamp.
You won’t find the Envelope Punch Board (133774) in the catalogue (it was an additional product that SU! launched along the way) but it is still available in the online store or you can contact me to order offline.
Enjoy the rest of your bank holiday weekend.
