Thank you for being an angel

I’m still using the Gift Bow die (reduced in our Weekly Deals until Wednesday 6 August) and today I’ve used it to create an angel.

You can definitely use this idea for Christmas decorations and gift packaging but angels aren’t just for Christmas 😉 – here I’ve used it to thank someone for “being an angel”, as they’re helping us out by dog-sitting next week while we work a couple of long days.

The Gift Bow was die cut from Shimmery White card and the outer bow (see the tutorial here to figure out which piece is which) curled over a bone folder. Both fish tail pieces and the outer bow  were run through the Big Shot in the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder (the outer bow won’t fit all at once, so emboss one half first and then the other, any overlap/gap in the centre can be hidden at the back). The fish tails are adhered to each other with an overlap and then the outer bow over the top of them. The centre wrap piece was adhered behind, to provide support for the head. After punching a 1-3/8″ Circle from Gold Glimmer Paper, the 1-3/4″ Circle was lined up over the top of the aperture, offset just a little and then punched again. This was adhered direct to the centre wrap support. A 1-1/4″ Circle was punched from Blushing Bride card and a face drawn on by hand with a Basic Black marker, before adhering below the halo. The thank you sentiment from Itty Bitty Banners* was stamped in Gold Metallic ink onto Shimmery White card and die cut out with the matching Bitty Banners framelit*. “Hands” punched from Blushing Bride card with the Word Window and cut in two, were adhered to the sentiment at one end and the angel wings at the other with glue dots (the glue dots allow you to angle the hands and sentiment a bit more flexibly). Finally, a teeny bow of Gold 1/8″ ribbon was added at the neckline.

* The Itty Bitty Banners and Bitty Banner framelits are also available as a bundle, saving 15%.

If you don’t already have a Big Shot to create projects like this then check out our August offer.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
