Tutorial for heartwarming Christmas card

September 21, 2020

This heartwarming Christmas card tutorial was one of the make and take projects at our Paper Dolls team meeting earlier this month. The theme of our meeting was stretching our supplies and the stitched rectangle used on this card was saved from the Forever Gold framed birthday card.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the Christmas card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

I used the Heartwarming Hugs Bundle on this small square card and this mixed DSP card.

Heartwarming Christmas Card Tutorial

Start with an A6 portrait card of Pear Pizzazz. Adhere a mat of Heartwarming Hugs DSP direct to the card front. Take a Stitched Rectangle of Real Red card and wrap Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon around the base and secure on the reverse. Tie a bow of Real Red Braided Linen Trim and add to the centre of the ribbon with a Mini Glue Dot.

Using Mossy Meadow ink, stamp the octaginal frame from the Warm Hugs set onto a scrap of Whisper White card. Use the same ink to stamp both the outline and fill in Christmas trees at the base of the frame. Add a sentiment from the same set above the tree using Real Red ink. Die cut out the framed sentiment using the co-ordinating die from the Warm Wraps die set. Adhere direct to a stitched circle from the same die set, die cut from Pear Pizzazz card. Pop the layered labels up on the card front with dimensionals.

Heartwarming Christmas Card Insert

On the Whisper White insert, stamp a sentiment from the Warm Hugs set using Mossy Meadow ink. Using Real Red ink, stamp the outline candy canes from the same set at each end of the sentiment. Fill in the candy cane pattern using the same ink. Finish the insert by adding a strip of the Heartwarming Hugs DSP left over from the card front at the base.

Thanks for stopping by.
