Tutorial for flourishing birthday card

September 28, 2020

This flourishing birthday card tutorial was the final make and take project at our September Paper Dolls team meeting. The theme of our meeting was stretching our supplies. We used some more of the elements from the Forever Gold Laser-cut Specialty Paper that we used on our Forever Gold framed birthday card. We also used more of the Gold Glitter Enamel Dots.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the flourishing birthday card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

Start with an A6 portrait card of Pretty Peacock. Run the right side portion of a card front layer of Pear Pizzazz Card through one of the Greenery embossing folder. Adhere a panel of Forever Greenery DSP to the left edge of the card layer. Add a skinny strip of Pretty Peacock card to the join between the DSP and the embossing before adhering it direct to the card front.

Die cut a label from Whisper White card using the Painted Labels dies. Using Pretty Peacock ink, stamp a sentiment from the Peaceful Moments set onto the label. Loop gold thread from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack and adhere on the reverse of the stamped label. Using the Forever Flourishing dies, die cut a large fern from Pretty Peacock card and a medium fern from Vellum Cardstock. Add some gold leaves from the Forever Gold Laser-cut Specialty Paper and layer behind the label before popping it up on the card front with dimensionals. Finish with Gold Glitter Enamel Dots.

On the Whisper White insert, emboss a border down the right side with the same Greenery embossing folder used on the front. Using Pretty Peacock ink, stamp another sentiment from the Peaceful Moments set.
