Tutorial for golden acetate card

January 8, 2021

Today’s tutorial is for a golden acetate missing you card. It’s a similar layout and style to the fine art card I shared on Monday.

Again I’m using the Fine Art Floral DSP with the perfectly matched golden acetate. I have several tips for getting the best results. Please hop over to my Facebook page or Youtube channel to check out the video and Like/Follow/Subscribe for further weekly tips in the future. Thanks!

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the golden acetate missing you card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

The Fine Art Floral DSP and the Golden Garden Designer Specialty Acetate, have two patterns that line up exactly. They give a gold outline overlay to the flowers beneath. I’ve used one of them for this card. Hold the two matching patterns together tightly and cut them as one to achieve a similar effect. Please note that there is clear plastic protecting the acetate that needs to be peeled off before completing your project.

Start with an A6 portrait card of Pretty Peacock. Mat with a layer of Fine Art Floral DSP. Using the Stitched So Sweetly set, die cut increasing size stitched scalloped rectangle labels from Whisper White and Pretty Peacock card. Stamp the I Miss You sentiment from the Art Gallery set set onto the white label with Pretty Peacock ink. Stamp the smaller (2-step) flower from the same set, using Pool Party ink for the first step and Pretty Peacock (stamped off first for a lighter shade) for the second.

Adhere the two labels together and pop up on the matched card front layer of Golden Garden Designer Specialty Acetate using dimensionals. Now apply adhesive (I recommend a “dry” adhesive such as Tear & Tape) on the reverse of the acetate, behind the labels so it won’t be seen and adhere direct to the card front (see video for this and more tips in action).

On the Whisper White insert, using Pretty Peacock ink, stamp another sentiment from the Art Gallery set. In the lower left corner, stamp the flower spray from the same set, using Pool Party ink.

Thanks for stopping by.
