Tutorial for dragonfly card set

February 5, 2021

Today’s tutorial is for a dragonfly card set. A full set of four cards all using the same Dragonfly Garden bundle and Dandy Garden DSP.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the dragonfly card which is then repeated in different colours to create a set. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

Remember – the Dragonfly Garden stamp set and the Dragonflies punch can be bought together as a bundle saving 10%.

Colour Combo

The colour combo for the first card uses just Calypso Coral and Basic White. Each of the other cards then uses Bumble Bee, Blackberry Bliss or Misty Moonlight with Basic White.

For each card simply use the key colour of card and ink.

Start with an A6 portrait card of Calypso Coral. Mat with (Calypso Coral pattern of) Dandy Garden DSP. Using Calypso Coral ink, stamp the flowers from the Dragonfly Garden set onto a panel of Basic White card. Mat onto Calypso Coral card and pop up on the card front with dimensionals. Use the same ink to stamp a sentiment from the set onto a small rectangle of Basic White card. Mat onto more Calypso Coral card. Pop the right hand edge of the sentiment up on dimensionals and adhere the overlapped left hand section direct to the flower panel.

Punch a matching colour of large dragonfly from Dandy Garden DSP (see video for tips on punching DSP images) with the Dragonflies punch. Paint the wings with Wink of Stella and allow to dry. Shape the wings over a bone folder and then adhere just the body of the dragonfly to the flower panel.

On the Basic White insert, using Calypso Coral ink, stamp another sentiment and the cluster of dragonflies from the Dragonfly Garden set. Add a strip of the same Dandy Garden DSP used on the front, along the base.

Each of the other cards is created in the same way, simply switching the colours.
