Today’s tutorial is for a True Love Evergreen card. Throughout this week I’ve been combining the True Love DSP (available now) with sneak peeks of the new 2021-2023 In Colors (coming 4 May). Today’s card uses the final colour of Evening Evergreen in card, ink, and ribbon.

Evening Evergreen is the darkest of our new In Colors and so I’ve combined it with the palest of the True Love patterns. As the pattern is very open, I didn’t need to place anything behind the ribbon for it to show clearly.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the True Love Evergreen card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own. Although you can’t order the new In Colors until 4 May you can easily switch another colour for the Evening Evergreen.

My cards earlier this week have introduced you to Pale Papaya, Fresh Freesia, Polished Pink and Soft Succulent. Each one was created with the True Love DSP and then combined with a different stamp set and dies set or punch. The stamps, dies and punches are all ones which are available now to give you an idea of how the new colours will work with what you may have already.

Colour Combo

The colour combo mixes Evening Evergreen with simple black and white.

True Love Evening Evergreen thank you card

Start with an A6 landscape card of Evening Evergreen. Cut a card front layer of True Love DSP. Wrap Evening Evergreen ribbon around the lower third of the DSP and secure on the reverse. Adhere the layer direct to the card front. Tie on a knot of the same ribbon to the centre of the wrapped ribbon and secure in place with Mini Glue Dots.

Die cut two different size labels from Evening Evergreen and Basic White card using the Ornate Layers dies. Using Evening Evergreen ink, add a sentiment from the Ornate Style set to the white label. Adhere the labels together direct and pop them up on the card front with dimensionals.

True Love Evening Evergreen thank you card inside

On the Basic White insert, stamp another sentiment from the Ornate Style set with Evening Evergreen ink. Add a die cut border along the base with one of the Ornate Layers dies.
