Tutorial for simple puffin card

May 4, 2021

Today’s tutorial is for a simple puffin birthday card. I’ve kept this one very straightforward, so it’s perfect for a beginner crafter and it doesn’t need too many supplies.

Each week over on my Facebook page (please pop over and Like or Follow) I choose a product pick of the week to feature. This week, it’s the brand new Party Puffins stamp set. I’ll have a selection of tutorials for you throughout the week that use this set. I’ll also be using it at my online workshop tomorrow night. Please join my Facebook Group and then join me tomorrow at 7pm for some additional ideas using this set.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the simple puffin birthday card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

The Party Puffins set includes 3 different puffins, a birthday cake, birthday gift (puffin style), some candles and 5 sentiments.

Start with an A6 portrait card of Pale Papaya. Adhere a card front layers of Pansy Petals DSP direct to a card front layer of Gray Granite. Wrap Gray Granite Shimmer Ribbon around the layers and secure on the reverse before adhering the layers direct to the card front. Tie a small piece of the same ribbon on in a knot. Using Memento Black ink, stamp the sentiment and puffin with a party hat from the Party Puffins set, onto a small rectangle of Basic White card. Colour the puffin. Mat onto Gray Granite card and then pop up on the card front with dimensionals.
