Today’s tutorial is for a Gold DSP Christmas cracker. These Gold and Silver DSP sheets can be used plain, or alternatively, coloured in so many different ways.

I created a plain thank you cracker at our July Online Workshop. For this Christmas cracker I stepped it up, using Stampin’ Blends to add colour. Even though this is a mini cracker it does take a little while to colour fully.

Colour Combo

This colour combo mixes Cherry Cobbler, Evening Evergreen and Metallic Gold.

Using the Cracker & Treat Box dies, die cut a cracker from Gold DSP. Tip – when using the striped pattern, check the direction of your stripes before cutting! Burnish all the fold lines with a bone folder. Use the light Cherry Cobbler and Evening Evergreen Stampin’ Blends to colour in fully between the Gold stripes. Once coloured and fully dry, adhere one side of the cracker to the other. Tie one end closed in a bow with Gold Cord from the Simply Elegant Trim set. Add your treat and tie the other end closed with another bow.

Die cut a stitched label from the Cracker & Treat Box dies, from a scrap of Basic White card. Using Memento Black ink, stamp a partial sentiment from the Kindest Gnomes set onto the label. Pop this up on the cracker with mini dimensionals.
