Tutorial for brushstroke chic card

March 29, 2023

Today’s tutorial is for a brushstroke chic card. This time we’re combining Texture Chic DSP with other specialty papers as a backdrop for some pretty leaves.

This is one of my “kitchen sink” cards. It was a swap card for my team and so I’m not shy about using lots of different supplies on the one project. Not really a project for a new crafter.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the brushstroke chic card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

Start with an A6 portrait card of Soft Succulent. Cut a card front layer of Evening Evergreen. Cut two card front panels, one of Texture Chic Specialty DSP and the other of Soft Succulent Brushstroke Specialty DSP. Adhere them direct to the Evening Evergreen card front layer. Add a strip of Distressed Gold Specialty Paper over the join in the papers.

Using the Forever Flourishing dies, die cut leaves from Evening Evergreen card, Brushed Metallic Gold card and Gold Metallic Specialty Paper. Adhere the dark leaves direct to the card front layers. Using Evening Evergreen ink, stamp a sentiment from the Waves of Inspiration set onto the large label die cut from Basic White card with the Waves dies. Adhere the gold leaves behind the sentiment label. Thread the label with Soft Succulent Satin Shimmer Ribbon. Wrap it around the card front layers and secure on the reverse. Adhere the layers direct to the card front. Finish with a trio of Brushed Brass Butterflies.
