Tutorial for torn Texture Chic birthday card

March 31, 2023

Today’s tutorial is for a torn Texture Chic birthday card. These Texture Chic papers have a distressed look and so I decided to play to this look by adding torn edges.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the torn Texture Chic birthday card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

Start with an A6 portrait card of Soft Succulent. Cut three (3-7/8″ x 5-1/2″) card front layers, two of Texture Chic Specialty DSP and another of Distressed Gold Specialty Paper. Tear the edges of the layers of Texture Chic Specialty DSP (see video). Adhere these torn layers direct to the card front layer of Distressed Gold Specialty Paper and then adhere direct to the card front. Using Evening Evergreen ink, stamp a sentiment from the Cottage Rose set onto a panel of Basic White card. Mat onto Distressed Gold Specialty Paper and then onto Soft Succulent card. Pop up on the card front with dimensionals.

Using Evening Evergreen ink, stamp a flower from the Cottage Rose set onto a scrap of Soft Succulent card. Die cut out with the Cottage Flowers dies. Pop this up on the card front with dimensionals.

In this short video I’m sharing a few tips for creating torn edges with your papers. Please subscribe to my Youtube channel to see my quick cards and quick tips each week.
