Tutorial for quick eclectic congrats card

June 19, 2023

Today’s tutorial is for a quick eclectic congrats card. This design uses both sides of the paper. The Delightfully Eclectic DSP pack has several patterns that will work in this way (see video).

Each week over on my Facebook page (please pop over and Like or Follow) I choose a product pick of the week to feature. This week, it’s the Delightfully Eclectic DSP. This is a larger pack than usual with 48 sheets – 4 each of 12 double-sided patterns. Use it for making multiples of cards or split a pack with a friend. I’ll have tutorials for you this week, that share different ideas for using these versatile papers.

I’ll also used this DSP pack in this month’s Online Workshop. You can check out those projects on the replay here. The workshop offer has ended but the 15% discount on the DSP is still available until the end of June.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the quick eclectic congrats card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

Start with an A6 portrait card of Fresh Freesia. Cut a (3-5/8″ x 5-1/2″) card front layer of Delightfully Eclectic. With the short edge at the top, cut at 1-1/4″. Flip over the DSP and adhere the narrow panel with the black & white pattern on the left, keeping top, bottom and left margins even. Adhere the remaining panel (flower side up) direct to the right side of the card front. Cover the join in the DSP with a skinny strip of Fresh Freesia card. Using Something Fancy dies, die cut two nesting labels, one from Basic Black card and the other from Basic White card. Stamp a sentiment from the Charming Sentiments set onto the white label with Memento Black ink. Adhere it direct to the black label and then pop the layered labels up on the card front with dimensionals.

Here’s a short video showing how this quick card comes together. Please subscribe to my Youtube channel to see my quick cards and quick tips each week.
