Tutorial for eclectic split birthday card

June 21, 2023

Today’s tutorial is for an eclectic split birthday card. This design displays both sides of the paper at once. It will work with many of the patterns within the Delightfully Eclectic DSP pack (which has 15% discount during June).

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the eclectic split birthday card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

Start with an A6 portrait card base of Moody Mauve. Cut matching card front layers of Delightfully Eclectic DSP and Basic White card. Cut horizontally from right to left, across the DSP layer approx. 1/3 of the way down the paper. Stop within 1″ of the left side and fold back the edges evenly. Adhere them in place with dimensionals to give a little lift. Using Blackberry Bliss ink, stamp a sentiment from the Circle Sayings set onto the Basic White card layer (positioned where the fold back will be). Adhere the folded back DSP over the top of the stamped layer. Adhere both layers direct to the card front.

Using Moody Mauve ink and the Color & Contour set, stamp both the outline flower and the infill flower over the top, onto a scrap of Basic White card. Die cut out with the matching Scalloped Contour die. Pop the flower up over the split part of the DSP with dimensionals. Finish with Adhesive-Backed Solid Gems in the centre of the flower.

On the Basic White insert, using Blackberry Bliss ink, stamp a circular sentiment and a plain sentiment from the Circle Sayings stamp set. Add a border of the Delightfully Eclectic DSP down the right side.
