Sale-a-bration Heartfelt Banner Kit birthday card

March 11, 2014

banner kit card close up

I found out at the weekend that I’d missed the birthday of a dear friend (told you this month is really busy for birthdays Smile), added to that, her lovely hubbie is quite under the weather … so I got busy.

If you remember, I only used part of my Sale-a-bration Heartfelt Banner Kit to make a mini banner and had pieces left over. They came in really handy for this belated birthday card. Then to save myself a little design time, I CASE’d myself to create a masculine get well card.

banner kit card

The card base is an A6 portrait of Crisp Cantaloupe. A mat of Calypso Coral was run through the Big Shot in the embossing folder and adhered to the card front so that it was debossed. A doily from the Sale-a-bration Banner Kit (133514 – free with £45  spend) was brayered with Crisp Cantaloupe ink and adhered to the card front. Two of the banners were overlapped and adhered over the top of the doily. A sentiment from the Sassy Salutations set (Wood 132070 or Clear 126707) was stamped in Calypso Coral ink onto Whisper White card and die cut out with an Ovals Collection framelit (129381). This was matted onto a larger Oval die cut from Calypso Coral card and the layers popped up on dimensionals. A Small Oval (120908) punched from Whisper White card was handwritten with the Belated sentiment adhered over the Small Oval and a Hung Up Clip (129389) fastened over the top. Some Basic Rhinestones (119246) finished the card front.

On the inside, a sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Sentiments (Wood 130042 or Clear 120024) was stamped in Calypso Coral ink onto the Whisper White insert. Flowers from the Flower Shop (Wood 130939 or Clear 130942) and Petite Petals (Wood 133152 or Clear 133155) were stamped in the corners in Calypso Coral ink.

masculine get well

The card base is an A6 portrait of Crumb Cake. Hardwood (Wood 133032 or Clear 133035) was stamped onto a panel of Whisper White card with Crumb Cake ink and the corners rounded with the 3/16″ Corner (119871). This was matted direct onto Early Espresso card and adhered direct to the card front. Lengths of Burlap Ribbon (132140) and Natural Chevron Ribbon (132982) were snipped into banners and layered together before adhering to the card front. The sentiment from the same Sassy Salutations set used for the birthday card, was stamped in Early Espresso ink onto Whisper White card, punched out with the 1-1/4″ Circle (119861) and matted onto a 1-3/8″ Circle (119860) punched from Early Espresso card. A 1-3/4″ Scallop Circle (119854) of Crumb Cake card was reinserted into the same punch, offset and punched again to create the mat for the layered sentiment which was popped up on dimensionals and then the layers adhered over the top of the ribbons.

Now I’ve got another event to create for Laughing
