Today’s tutorial is for an Enjoy the Journey retirement card. This card design was part of the make and take pack at our Paper Dolls team meeting last night.

Some packs had this pattern of paper with shaded mountains running from a darker Pumpkin Pie to Mango Melody. Others had the pattern with the mountains running from Melon Mambo to a lighter Pumpkin Pie. They all had a warm sunset vibe that sets off the black silhouette well.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the Enjoy the Journey retirement card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

Colour Combo

This colour combo mixes Pumpkin Pie, Mango Melody and Basic Black.

Enjoy the Journey retirement card

Start with an A6 portrait card base of Pumpkin Pie. Cut a card front layer (3-7/8″ x 5-1/2″) of Enjoy the Journey DSP. Using Memento Black ink stamp a sentiment from the Paradise Palms set into the top right, plain and paler area of the DSP pattern. I recommend using the Stamparatus for stamping to get the crispest, blackest sentiment (see Monday’s card and video). Adhere the layer direct to the card front.

Using the Palms dies, die cut the palm tree and grass from Basic Black card. Pop these up on the card front with slivers of dimensionals. I recommend using the Black Stampin’ Dimensionals Combo Pack so that the dimensionals are less visible (the die cuts are quite skinny).

Enjoy the Journey retirement card insert

On the Basic White insert, using Memento Black ink, stamp another sentiment from the Paradise Palms set a little left of centre. Add a border of Enjoy the Journey DSP down the right side.
