Tutorial for strawberry box

February 13, 2021

This strawberry box tutorial was another of the make and take projects at our Paper Dolls team meeting earlier this week. It was designed for gifting with this card.

We made one of these boxes at another team meeting, back in September, but the contents were visible for that one. This design hides the contents completely.

If you’d like to join our next online monthly meeting then please get in touch for more information.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the strawberry box. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

Assemble the Clear Tiny Treat Box according to the instructions that come included. Trim a panel of Berry Delightful DSP (just a slightly less on each edge) than 6″ x 2″. Score at 2″ from each end and sit the DSP strip inside the box.

Cut a strip of the same pattern of Berry Delightful DSP to 8-1/2″ x 2″. Dry fit around the box and adhere closed underneath the box. (Dry fitting means wrapping the strip around the box and creasing it into place at each corner). Adhere this belly band in place with just a little “give”, otherwise it will be very difficult to slide on and off the box.

Using Poppy Parade ink, stamp a sentiment from the So Sentimental set onto a scrap of Basic White. Die cut out with a plain Layering Circle and adhere direct to a scalloped Layering Circle die cut from Granny Apple Green. Pop the circles up on the top of the belly band with dimensionals. Fussy cut two strawberries from Berry Delightful DSP. Adhere one direct to another Basic White circle, layered onto another scalloped Layering Circle die cut from Granny Apple Green. Pop the other strawberry up on mini dimensionals, overlapping the first. Pop these circles up on the front of the belly band with dimensionals. Finish with a couple of Red Rhinestones, sandwiching the sentiment on the lid.

Strawberry box - open

Here’s the box open. I filled it with Haribo giant strawberries. One bag fills 2 boxes – with perhaps one strawberry left over that you just have to eat!

Thanks for stopping by.
